Description:
Wild (white) Plumbago, also known as Doctorbush, is a native Texas groundcover with delicate, pale blue to white flowers that bloom profusely from spring to fall. Its lush, trailing habit makes it an excellent choice for understory plantings, shady beds, or cascading over retaining walls. It attracts butterflies, especially the Cassius Blue (Leptotes cassius), which use it as a host plant, adding ecological value to its beauty.
Planting Tips:
-
Prefers moist, well-drained soils but tolerates short dry periods once established.
-
Space plants 12–18 inches apart to allow for spreading.
-
Trim lightly after blooming to maintain shape and encourage continued flowering.
