Description:
Desert Willow is a drought-tolerant Texas native tree prized for its trumpet-shaped, fragrant blooms in shades of pink, lavender, and burgundy. Despite its name, it’s not a true willow but gets its name from its narrow, graceful leaves. The flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees throughout the warm season. With its airy canopy and elegant form, Desert Willow is perfect for xeriscapes, pollinator gardens, and low-water landscapes.
Planting Tips:
-
Prefers well-drained soil; avoid overwatering.
-
Space at least 15 feet from structures to allow full canopy development.
-
Minimal pruning needed—remove suckers and shape in winter if desired.
-
Tolerates heat, wind, and poor soil once established.
