Description:
Switchgrass is a tall, warm-season native grass prized for its upright growth, airy flower panicles, and striking golden fall color. It's a cornerstone species in native prairie restoration and erosion control, and provides excellent cover and nesting for birds and wildlife. This drought-tolerant grass thrives in a variety of soils and is a beautiful addition to wildflower gardens, meadows, or as an ornamental screen.

Planting Tips:

  • Sow seeds or plant plugs in well-drained soil with full sun.

  • Space 18–24 inches apart to allow mature spread.

  • Minimal watering needed once established.

  • Cut back to the ground in late winter to refresh new growth.
