Description:
Patchouli is a tropical perennial herb in the mint family known for its fragrant leaves, which produce the deep, earthy essential oil often associated with incense, perfumes, and natural body products. Its soft, fuzzy leaves and small pale pink to white flowers make it an attractive addition to herb gardens or container plantings. Though native to Southeast Asia, Patchouli can be grown in Texas with care and protection from frost.

Planting Tips:

  • Grow in well-drained, rich soil with consistent moisture.

  • Best suited for containers or protected garden beds.

  • Trim regularly to encourage bushiness and prevent legginess.

Ideal Season for Planting in Texas: Spring (after last frost)

Nativity to Texas: No
