Description:
Tall native perennial with clusters of small white flowers that attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Famous for producing delicate ribbon-like ice formations from its stems during the first hard freezes of winter. Excellent for native plant gardens, woodland edges, and pollinator habitats.

Planting Tips:

  • Prefers rich, well-drained soils with some moisture
  • Spreads readily by seed in favorable conditions
  • Leave stems standing in winter to observe ice formations
