Description: Standing Cypress, also known as Texas Plume, is a striking biennial native to the southern United States, including Texas. It features tall, slender stalks covered in bright red, tubular flowers that bloom from late spring to early summer. This plant is particularly attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for pollinator gardens.

Planting Tips:

  • Plant in well-drained soil, preferably sandy or loamy.
  • Space plants about 12-18 inches apart.
  • Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system; reduce watering once established.
  • It may require staking in windy areas due to its height.
