Description:
Carolina Wolfberry, also knows as Christmas Berry, is a hardy, deciduous shrub native to Texas and the southeastern U.S., often found along coastal areas and in saline soils. It produces delicate, pale purple flowers that attract native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, followed by small, bright red edible berries. These berries are loved by wildlife and can also be used in jams or eaten fresh. The plant is drought-tolerant once established and can thrive in tough conditions, including poor soils and high salinity.

Planting Tips:

  • Plant in well-draining soil with full sun exposure.

  • Prune to shape and encourage denser growth.

  • Ideal for xeriscaping, wildlife gardens, and restoration projects.
