Description:
Correll's False Dragonhead is a rare and striking perennial native to Texas, known for its tall spikes of lavender-purple, tubular flowers that resemble snapdragons. A magnet for pollinators, especially native bees and butterflies such as the Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae), it thrives in moist soils like those found in riverbanks and lowlands. Its upright form and long bloom season make it a standout in native wildflower gardens or rain gardens.

Planting Tips:

  • Prefers moist, well-drained soil but tolerates short dry periods once established.

  • Space plants 18–24 inches apart.

  • Cut back in late fall to encourage fresh growth in spring.
